Flag Drawing

The purpose of this drawing was to learn more about depth and how angles change from different points of view. A piece of rectangular paper with 90 degree angles won’t always be drawn with 90 degree angles. When the paper changes planes and we see it from a different perspective, the angles the corners are at also change. I found it very difficult to show depth in this piece. Since the flag I was drawing was done in charcoal before, I didn’t see many values and found it very frustrating to draw. I like the smudges in the picture because i think they turned out well. My flag originally had smudges on it and I believe that the smudges in this piece help to add to the texture of the image.
